Comments about Franklin Revere Lift Chair:
I got this chair for a relative who has had hip surgery. I got the chair in the poly-olive fabric (don't think this color is offered anymore, but it should be - great color and sort of a microsuede feel). The chair came fully assembled, just plugged it in and began using. Have not had any issues with it so far, every time a button is pushed it has functioned perfectly. Take note that if you choose "heat and massage" the heating mechanism is only in the back of the chair (not the seat) and switches off after 15 minutes for safety. The massage unit is only in the back of the chair and only does vibration (no kneading or "Shiatsu"). Also, you can't lift the footrest without using the electric-powered handheld control. And I know this is a bit knitpicky but the handheld control does look like something from the early '80s (though given the age range of typical users for this product this retro tech look may have been intended??). I also think that the speed of the chair's powered movements is a little slow, especially for clients that are still pretty active (like my relative) except for the trouble his hip gives him when trying to get up from a chair - would suggest both "Slow" and "Fast" speed options. However, almost all products can be potentially improved and the person actually using this chair loves it. The chair seat is comfortable and a bit higher from the floor than say a typical family room couch. He also likes the vibrating massage and heat and the chair when fully reclined is comfortable for sleeping. The arms are well-padded so you won't have to worry about hitting a hard corner in the reclined position (heard this was a problem with some other lift chairs). Most importantly, he's able to get up from at least one chair in his house without pain; makes this purchase totally worth it.
Service and delivery comments:
Although it showed as being in stock on the webpage, there were parts the company was waiting for for a long time before they could assemble and ship it - effectively the chair was on backorder. We waited almost 2 months before it shipped, but CSN customer service was understanding and gave a slight discount in price for the unexpected delay. Once shipped everything else went smoothly. The delivery guys were really nice bringing in the chair without damaging anything and even unpacking it and taking away the packaging when they didn't have to (I only got the bronze delivery). Granted it only took a minute or so to do, but little things like this definitely help leave a good impression.
